Welcome to:

Chester & Flintshire Talking Newspaper website

Chester Talking Newspaper, which is a registered charity, has recording studios located in Folliott House, 53 Northgate Street, Chester. We have been established since 1977, recording and distributing hundreds of audio cassette tapes every week, to the visually impaired in Chester and Flintshire.

Our studio is now equipped to enable us to record and copy digitally, and this has proved to greatly enhance the efficiency of our operation.

Future direction is aimed at delivering a fully digital product to our Service Users, using 'thumbdrives' or 'memory sticks' (Newsbridge system) in preparation for when cassette tapes are no longer available. We are currently operating a small pilot scheme using this system.  For details visit http://www.bridgedigital.net.  You may also listen to our weekly output by using the links on our Audio Download page.
